Our goal is to promote Our goal is to promote the importance of empathy at all levels of health care and the need of a patient centered holistic approach with respect to patients’ choices. We are focusing on adolescents and young adults, on the communication of patients and their families with the health professionals and on the assessment and management of cancer and its therapeutic regimen psychiatric and psychological side effects. We invite patients, survivors, families and caregivers, doctors, psychologists and social workers, nurses and all health professionals who support cancer patients. Our Forum is organized under the auspices of University of Athens and University of Patras Medical Schools and is supported by CBMDP “Save a Life” and by the Hellenic Society for the Advancement of Psychiatry and Related Sciences. |

Tuesday, 04 December 2012 Workshop: the role of multinational companies and supply chains in innovation Brussels, Belgium This workshop will present and discuss the findings of an Innovation Intelligence Study by the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO), with interested stakeholders and experts. In line with the ‘Mission Growth’ initiative intended to strengthen and reshape Europe’s economic and industrial base, the Intelligence Study will explore how multinational companies and cross-border collaborations can lead to the creation of new knowledge; evaluate how policy and non-policy factors can influence the location of R&D activities and investigate the effects of outward FDI in R&D and other innovation activities on the innovation base and competitiveness of parent companies in their home country. By participating, you will have the opportunity to exchange opinions and suggest directions for open innovation policy in the future. |

Monday, 26 November 2012 U4energy European Award Ceremony Brussels Come celebrate together with 200 award-winning representatives from over 70 avant-garde schools, travelling from 28 countries across Europe and beyond. The U4energy European Award Ceremony will take place on Monday 26 November 2012 at 17.30 CET under the patronage of the European Commissioner for Energy, Mr Günther OETTINGER, and in the presence of Mrs Silvia-Adriana ŢICĂU (MEP). The Ceremony will be orchestrated at the Belgian Comic Strip Centre, a landmark building located in the heart of Brussels (20 Rue des Sables, 1000 Brussels), and will involve a number of surprise events and appearances. National winners and finalists of the 2011/2012 edition of the U4energy competition on energy efficiency will be awarded in four distinct categories: •Category A: Best energy efficiency measures This category will give recognition to the schools that achieved the highest energy, financial and CO² savings over the school year. •Category B: Best teaching actions on efficient energy use This category will award the best activities led by teachers to educate their classes about energy efficiency. •Category C: Best school campaign on energy efficiency This category will reward the best efforts to raise awareness on energy efficiency both at school and in the wider community. •Category D: Best practice beyond U4energy This category will acknowledge best practice from national competitions on energy efficiency and from schools awarded as part of those national competitions. |
