| Brief profile: | METAction, a civil society organization was founded with the primary aim to promote a rational system for managing mixed migration flows, while encouraging respect for human rights, national and international legislation, through the development of actions for the reception and integration of immigrants and refugees in Greece, as well as of actions of support for their voluntary return and reintegration in their countries of origin. METAction, an implementing partner of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees since 2010, was created with the aim of contributing mainly to areas not covered, or covered to a small extent, by the competent public authorities and by civil society organizations such as: - interpretation services - certification of victims of torture - escorting of unaccompanied minors from detention centers to reception facilities - establishment of guardianship network for unaccompanied minors - legal assistance to persons entitled to international protection in the NE Aegean islands - teaching of Greek as a foreign language |
